性质:(一)又称铁锈水。含铁锈沉积物的水,一般是指矿山排出的酸性废水。矿山废水的酸度是因硫铁矿被氧化成硫酸以及硫酸铁被硫氧化细菌氧化而产生的,由于细菌作用而产生的三价铁盐沉积在水中而使水变成赭红色。(二)亚硫酸钠精制梯恩梯生成的碱性废水。显深红色,故俗称红水。含有机物及无机物。精制每吨梯恩梯产生红水约350kg。不当排放会严重污染环境,可使禾苗枯死,鱼虾死亡。被污染的水源如为人饮用,可损坏肝、血液、眼和神经系统。可用浓缩焚烧法(浓缩后与燃料油一起焚烧)、自然蒸发法、浓缩分离法(令红水酸化、浓缩后冷却析出固体物)处理。浓缩焚烧法已用于梯恩梯生产厂,但造成大气污染。
