从医学角度分析飞行事故与飞行员的关系，分析救生过程中机上人员致伤、致死的原因，并分析影响飞行安全的各种因素,提出预防事故的有效措施。据统计,因飞行员操纵错误造成的飞行事故占事故总数的50％左右。引起飞行事故的医学原因是多方面的。物理方面的因素有缺氧、减压、噪声、振动、超重、温度变化、舱内有害气体等，这些因素都可能影响飞行员的生理机能。受到影响的生理心理方面的因素有精力不集中、过度紧张、饮食不当、过度疲劳等。病理药理方面的因素有潜在性疾病或用药不当等。飞行事故医学分析的方法有三种：①现场调查分析:尽快抢救幸存者,并作医学检查和听取口述。现场对死者拍照，收集有关物证送检化验。然后可对飞行员尸体作病理学、法医学检查。根据检查结果，结合飞行情况和飞行员飞前健康状况进行综合分析，确定飞行事故医学方面的原因。②阶段统计和分析：用统计分析的方法研究一定时期内的多起事故，揭示发生事故的一般规律和特点。③用模拟实验方法复现事故：在一定条件下可以对疑难问题作模拟实验，借以分析和判别导致失事的原因。
