Start with climate context, a research is conducted to explore the technological measures of traditional regional architecture and its creative application in contemporary architecture which actively respond local climate.

In applying the Appropriate Technological Concept to the regional architecture research, the article analyzes the relationships between architectural technology, regionality and modernity, and constructs the theoretic frame of contemporary AT concept.

With an example of saving a fading famous historical and cultural city, the author demonstrates that it is necessary to protect traditional and local buildings and historical blocks and to create new building style with local characteristics for a famous city.
