重庆奥体中心位于重庆市九龙坡区的袁家岗,体育场总用地11.86万平方米，建筑面积6.28万平方米，共分7层,其中地下1层,高度54.3米，投资金额近7亿元，能容纳6万人同时观看比赛。该体育场长312米、宽80米的弧形挑棚居亚洲之最，使其成为重庆市一座标志性体育建筑。
体育场设有24个出入口，并设有专门供残疾人使用的通道。为了保障赛场的安全每个出入口均设有专业的安检门,任何异物在这里都会被送到监控中心进行分析处理。
为了保障比赛的质量，球场草皮全部引进国外优质草种栽培，有极强的耐践踏能力，加上预设的排水系统，即使下倾盆大雨场内也不会积水。而灯光采用连续无影灯带，光线均匀,确保运动员在球场每一处视觉都非常舒服。
