调五门 据说明代有一个木工匠师，苏州一家园主请他去制造家具，园主见他手艺好，设计了一种“梅花凳”，凳面为五瓣形，心板也要同形镶拼。匠师根据要求制成后，园主暗暗钦佩，但故意说凳子五足立地比置不规矩，不正作。匠师心中明白，便找来一把石灰粉撒在堂中的方桌上，然后将梅花凳放平在上面，压出五个足印来，接着又按一个个凳足调换位置，经过四次调换转动，每次五个凳足恰好都落在原先印出的灰迹中，丝毫不差。以后民间木工匠师有用此法来作腿部校正，并称之谓“调五门”。
