In this paper,the advanced microwave scanning radiometer(AMSR) data and the polynya signature simulation method(PSMM) are used to detect the sea ice in the Bohai Sea and to extract the sea ice edge information.

Through analysis of the 1999/2000 background field of winter circumfluence, we find that the changes of West Pacific subtropic high and polar vortex are important factors that affect the changes of winter climates characters of our countrys and decay or melt of sea ice in the Bohai Sea.
