【来源】
为蔷薇科植物山楂或野山楂等的根。植物形态详"山楂"条。
【性味】
《分类草药性》："甘，平，无毒。"
【功用主治】
消积，祛风，止血。治食积，痢疾，关节痛，咯血。 ①《纲目》："消积。治反胃。" ②《分类草药性》："消中膈之气，去肉积。" ③《浙江民间草药》："祛风活血。治关节痛。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤，3～5钱。
【选方】
①治消化不良，小儿食积：野山楂根、果各四钱，车前草三钱。水煎服。 ②治关节痛：山楂根、紫藤根、活血龙、桂枝、络石藤、忍冬藤各三至五钱。煎汁冲酒服。 ③治肺结核咯血：野山楂根一至二两，水煎汁，再用白茅花三至五钱，烧灰，以药汁冲服。(①方以下出《浙扛民间常用草药》) ④治细菌性痢疾：山楂根五钱，小果蔷薇(七姊妹)根五钱。水煎，分二次服，每日一剂。(《单方验方调查资料选编》)
