【英国出口信用担保局】隶属于英国政府的一家保险机构。1919年成立，宗旨是通过向本国出口商提供出口信用保险及对英国商业银行贷款利率低于市场利率部分给予补贴，保护本国出口商的利益，推动本国对外贸易的发展。担保局于1盯2年起开办海外投资保险，使英国企业在海外特别是在第三世界新兴工业国家的投资有了可靠的保障。现设有两个总部，一是设在卡的夫的保险服务部，负责短期业务及信息搜集、索赔处理等复核工作;二是伦敦的保险工程部，负责中长期业务及行政事务。担保局在经营上以收支平衡为原则，不以盈利为目的，加之在经营管理上的完善，使其自成立以来不断壮大，为英国出口贸易的发展做出了很大的贡献。近年来受发展中国家债务危机的困扰，该局经营状况不佳，陷人窘境。
