虚拟物流（Virtuallogistics）是指以计算机网络技术进行物流运作与管理，实现企业间物流资源共享和优化配置的物流方式。即多个具有互补资源和技术的成员企业，为了实现资源共享、风险共担、优势互补等特点的战略目标，在保持自身独立性的条件下，建立的较为稳定的合作伙伴关系。虚拟物流是利用日益完善的通讯网络技术及手段，将分布于全球的企业仓库虚拟整合为一个大型物流支持系统，以完成快速、精确、稳定的物资保障任务，满足物流市场的多频度、小批量订货需求。虚拟物流本质上是“即时制”在全球范围内的应用，是小批量、多频度物资配送过程。它能使企业在世界任何地方以最低的成本跨国生产产品，以及获得所需物资，以赢得市场竞争速度和优势。虚拟物流管理模式的另一个好处就是可以在较短的时间内，通过外部资源的有效整合，实现对市场机遇的快速响应。但由于虚拟物流并没有改变各节点企业在市场中的独立法人属性，也没有消除其潜在的利益冲突。因此，虚拟物流也给各联盟企业带来了一些新的风险问题。
