形态特征:鼠李科枣属灌木或小乔木植物，高l-3米。小枝红黑色，有针状劲直及向下反曲的两种剃。叶互生，椭圆形、卵形或卵状披针形，长1.5-4厘米，宽O.6-2厘米，顶端钝或有时微凹，基部圆形，边缘具齿状锯齿，上面绿色，背面淡绿色，具3条基出脉;叶柄短。聚伞花序腋生，6-7月开花，花黄绿色。核果近球形，红褐色，味酸;核两端钝。
生境分布:生于海拔l000-2150米的向阳或干燥山坡、山谷的沟边、路旁。分布于辽宁、河北 内蒙古、山西、陕西、甘肃、宁夏、新疆、山东、安徽、浙江、河南、湖北、四川、贵州等省区
用途:为蜜源植物;果皮入药，健脾，果仁和根入药，镇静安神。
