  加权算术平均价格是1812年英国人A.杨格在简单算术平均法基础上创建的。它克服了简单算术平均法的弊病,使之不仅反映同一商品在不同地区、不同时间、不同价格类型、不同花色品种间价格的平均水平,也反映这些商品购销数量及其结构变化对价格水平的影响程度。
  
  在既不掌握商品购销数量,又不掌握商品购销金额,仅有价格调整日期的原始记录的条件下,则可按购销价格执行日数加权计算其平均价格。计算公式为:
  
  
  式中D为价格执行日数;∑D为计算期的总日数。采用这种方法只有当每天购销的数量比较均衡的时候,才能确切反映所代替的购销量的权衡作用。
