水库位于克拉依玛市区东北60余公里处，面积577万平方米。白杨河从水库流出，经乌尔禾而抵达艾里克湖，长42公里。两岸水草茂盛，灌木丛生，还有成片的杨树桦林。河水澄澈，云天倒映。止游还有一道落差20余米的飞瀑。这里是天鹅、野鸭的乐园，是克拉玛依市居民野游之地。
克拉玛依市的游览点还有玛纳斯河小拐风景区、红山地貌、百口泉风光、西沟风光、后山牧场以及克拉玛依矿史陈列馆等，都可供游客选择。
