      又叫混合离子-电子导体,是介于离子导体和电子导体之间的一类固体材料,它同时兼有离子导电性和电子导电性。有实用价值的混合导体的离子电导率和电子电导率都相当高。α-Ag2X(X=S,Se,Te),Cu2S,WO3和TiS2等都属于这一类。离子电导和电子电导的起因各不相同,前者与晶体结构有关,后者主要由电子能隙所快定。离子导体中的电子电导率与材料所处的环境如温度和氧分压等密切相关,例如ZrO2(CaO)在1000℃时只有当氧分压在10-5~10-18大气压之间时才是纯的氧离子导体,当氧分压大于105大气压和小于10-18大气压时分别具有P型和N型导电性.
  
  对一维和二维混合导体(见低维导体)研究得较多。很多过渡金属氧化物如 WO3的晶体点阵中有许多彼此平行的一维隧道,一价阳离子可以占据这些隧道并在其中扩散。例如在外电场作用下H+和 Li+都可以嵌入WO3的隧道中形成HxWO3和LixWO3,它们都是深蓝色。电场反向时,离子又被取出变成为无色的WO3。利用这种特性已制成电色显示器。TiO2具有二维层状结构,层与层之间没有强的化学键,因此碱金属离子很容易出入层间,它是固体电池理想的阴极材料。
  
  由于对混合导体的研究不够深入,因而对它的了解还很肤浅。
