  自动补货系统(CRP)是一种利用销售信息、订单经由EDI连接合作伙伴的观念,合作伙伴之间必须有良好的互动关系,并且利用电子信息交换等方式提供信息给上下游。也就是说CRP是一种库存管理方案,是以掌控销售信息和库存量,作为市场需求预测和库存补货的解决方法,由销售信息得到消费需求信息,供应商可以更有效的计划、更快速的反应市场变化和用户需求,因此CRP可以用来作为降低库存量、改善库存周转,进而维持库存量的最佳化,而且供应商与批发商以分享重要信息双方都可以改善需求预测、补货计划、促销管理和运输装载计划等等。
