朝阳台在东峰绝顶,因是太阳最先照耀的地方,又是游人观赏华山日出的最佳位置,故名。东峰也因此被称为朝阳峰。
台面积约十平方米,因崖势向外悬空伸出,从远处望去,如同鹰嘴。游人行其上,往往有心旌神摇之感。台上苍松林立,浓荫蔽天,站林荫间向东望去,视野开阔,山岭连绵,千重翠浪尽收眼底。极目处,黄河如带,沃野无垠。游人每登华山,都将在处观赏日出作为第一幸事。
