【功用主治】
镇惊安神，消肿解毒。治惊痫心悸，疔毒，阴肿，脱肛。 ①《本经》："主明目。" ②《别录》："疗惊悸，定心气，小儿风痫，阴癀，脱肛。" ③《本草汇言》："拔疔毒。" ④《本经逢原》："破胃脘积血作痛。" ⑤《医林纂要》："泄肺热，坠涌痰。"
【用法与用量】
内服：煎汤或入丸、散。外用：调敷。

①治火热燔心，暴发惊狂如痫者：铁精一钱，甘草二钱。煎汁饮。(《至宝方》) ②治阴肿：铁精粉敷上。(《子母秘录》) ③治妇人阴挺出下脱：铁精细研，以羊脂调，布裹，炙令热，熨之，以瘥为度。(《圣惠方》) ④治小儿因痢肛门脱：铁精粉敷之。(姚和众) ⑤治蛇骨刺人毒痛：铁精如大豆者，以管吹疮内。(《补缺肘后方》)
