性质：热硝酸能快速溶解辐照二氧化铀燃料，但溶解二氧化钍-二氧化铀燃料的速率非常慢。辐照二氧化钍-二氧化铀燃料要用硝酸-氢氟酸混合溶液溶解，最合适的溶剂是Thorex溶剂。二氧化钍-二氧化铀燃料颗粒越小，烧结密度越低，溶解速率越快，溶解速率也随燃料中二氧化钍含量减少和溶液中钍浓度的下降而加快。二氧化钍-二氧化铀在Thorex试剂中的溶解速率是比较缓慢的，如颗粒度为0.66mm，理论密度为90%～95%的压片，在过量200%的Thorex试剂中要溶解25～40h才能溶完。
