新四军在苏北抗击日伪军“扫荡”的战斗。1942年11月14日开始，日军第17师团1个旅团和伪军第36师共7000余人，分五路对淮海抗日根据地进行分进合击式的大“扫荡”。各路均于15日下午3时到达小胡庄、陈圩、张圩之线会合。15、16日，敌反复在根据地中心区进行“搜剿”。19日晚，撤回各据点之敌再次对根据地进行“扫荡”，后陆续撤回。28日，敌又出动“扫荡”。新四军第3师第7旅和第10旅以一部主力配合地方武装和民兵，在根据地内开展游击战，消耗、疲惫、迷惑敌人，机关和大部分主力则跳至外线，寻机歼敌。在半个月内大小战斗73次，粉碎了敌人的“扫荡”，毙日军军官2人、士兵70人、伪军156人，伤日伪军270余人，俘日军35人、伪军95人。
