附加冒险(addventure)是指一种结合了故事接龙和观众选角扮演类型的文字冒险游戏。如同故事接龙一般,附加冒险是一种由许多作者共同书写一个故事,每人书写不同部份的接龙小说。但如游戏书一样,其故事剧情是非线性的,并允许作者在故事的各个桥段后分支出不同的方向来。其成果为一持续成长著的网络小说。

电脑网络和电子通讯的出现使得接龙小说的写作比之前的更加快速且便利。故事接龙曾被写在bbs、邮件论坛和usenet内,且有许多的变体亦被尝试过。一种在早期出现的分歧故事,为故事接龙团体的一部份人士在继续创作的主线故事外平行地书写著支线故事,然而这却导致了极令人困惑和难以跟随的故事,当其多重的支线在相同版面或邮件论坛上持续地扩张时。很快地,用来公式化及易于和主线区分的支线系统出现了。

此一混成词“addventure”源自allen s. firstenberg于1987至1988年在奈阿克高中的bbs上创作附加故事时的称呼“add-venture”。到了1994年,此篇故事被转成html形式,且得到了一些注意及许多的模仿的人。

其内容为目的取向的网络小说扩充了架空历史小说的概念,称为多世界诠释、接龙小说和马赛克小说的较早期概念。
