    黄河上游峡谷之一。在中国青海省东部共和、贵南两县间。峡谷长38.6千米,上下口落差235米,下口距河源1724.3千米。峡谷两岸为花岗岩、砂板岩组成,宽不足100米,最狭处水平面宽仅20~40米,深达120~150米,谷壁陡峻。河水年平均流量640立方米/秒。在龙羊峡至寺沟峡之间将修建7座梯级水电站,龙羊峡水电站为第一级电站,被称为黄河上游水电站梯级开发的龙头。
