On the basis of rock mechanics and principle of the movement of overlying strata in longwall face, this paper discusses the influences of the original gas pressure, mining technical parameters, dip angle of coal seams and the features of overlying seams on the residual gas in overlying adjacent seams.

Starting from the sources of the damp, the movement of the damp and the moving parameter, this paper indicates that the upper neighboring coal seam is the main source of the damp of the stope, and points out that gas extracting and discharging is the basic measure for treating the damp.

The article mainly discusses tunneling when there is more gas in the coal layer,utilizing the hish layer cracks using the hole in the high layer,in this way of inhaling the next layer gas as tunneling,the problem of the gas consistency above the ordinary level in some workplace because of the gas gushing form the next layer is sloved.

The main comprehensive gas drainage way of the working face gas government is the neighbor level drainage,the goaf drainage,the local coal seam gas drainage and partial drainage for tunneling working face.
