By analyzing the current state and existing problems of automatic resonance arc suppression coil, a novel arc suppression coil with three phases and five columns based on the changing magnetic coupling is proposed to mitigate the high-order harmonics produced by regulating the triggering angle of thyristor-controlled reactor (TCR).

By analyzing the defect of automatic resonance arc suppression coil, a novel arc suppression coil with three phases and five columns is presented to solve the high-order harmonic induced by regulating the triggering angle of Thyristor-Controlled Reactor (TCR), which is based on changing magnetic coupling to adjust inductance.
