This paper analyzes the feasibility of adopting the large-section excavation in soft wall rock tunnel, introduces the new techniques of the smooth blasting on the arch part of peripheral hole and the side-wall presplitting blasting, which provide some practicable experiences for the tunnel excavation under similar conditions.

In this article,authors comprehensively analyze some aspects of the full section excavation method for rock tunnels such as every drill explosion methods,undermining modes,explosion parameters,and proper blast hole layout and so forth and give out practical construction data.

Based on the research results of modeling test and numerical analysis of surrounding rock deformation behavior of the full-face excavation tunnel in karst regions,the regular time-space curve model of surrounding rock deformation was proposed.
