According to the characteristics of pentamaran,an engineering method for predicting the longitudinal motion in waves was presented based on the STF strip theory with the extension of taking into account the instantaneous variation of the wetted hull surface during motions and its effects on the ship hydrodynamic characteristics.
针对五体船型的特点,基于STF切片理论,计入船体运动时湿表面的变化及其对船体流体动力性能的影响,提出了五体船纵向运动预报的一种工程算法。

Through an experimental method the pentamaran resistance characteristics were studied.
