概况
松溪县位于福建省北部，北纬27°24′-27°51，东经118°33′-118°55′。总面积1040.2平方千米。2003年末，户籍人口15.88万人，其中非农业人口2.77万人。通行闽北方言建瓯话。

历史沿革
三国吴永安三年（260）置东平县，宋开宝八年（975）改名松溪县。历属永安军、建州、建宁路、建宁府、建安道。1949年5月14日解放，历属建瓯专区、建阳专区、南平专区、福安专区、南平地区、建阳地区、南平地区、南平市。1960年2月至1962年8月、1970年7月至1975年3月两度与政和县合并为松政县。
