为了动态观察华支睾吸虫病的胆道超微结构变化过程，以实验感染华支睾吸虫的豚鼠为模型，对其胆道上皮细胞进行了２２周的观察，发现主要改变为：胆道上皮细胞微绒毛的肿胀，融合或消失；胆管上皮细胞向管腔面异常隆起；胞质减少，胞浆黏液颗粒大量增加；细胞间隙增宽，胶原原纤维向内生长；核形态不规则；线粒体数量增加，体积增大，肿胀，基质减少或空泡化，或浓缩为髓样体；高尔基复合体活跃；内质网数量增加，内质网池扩张；溶酶体增加；基膜弯曲，基膜下胶原原纤维增生及嗜酸粒细胞浸润，其病变程度随时间延长呈加重趋势，反映了胆管上皮细胞受破坏及功能反应性增强交叉进行的病理过程。

乔木状，高3-4m。叶聚生于茎和枝顶，几呈套叠状，长约70cm，抱茎，无柄。圆锥花序长约30cm，花序轴无毛或近无毛。分布于海南西南部，生于背风区的干燥砂土上。越南、柬埔寨也有分布。国家三级保护濒危种。
