Because Guglielmi detachable coils (GDCs) have demonstrated their limitations of compression, recu rrence and mass effect in the embolization of intracranial aneurysms, the recent designs of combining the novel coils with bioactive materials are improving con tinuously.

Ischemic events may occurre during the procedure of embolism with Guglielmi detachable coils (GDCs) for intracranial aneurysms.
