简称“系膜”。位于肾小球毛细血管之间。系膜由系膜细胞和系膜基质两部分组成。系膜细胞相当于肾小球内的幼稚结缔组织细胞。基质是系膜细胞的代谢产物,在染色特异性上与基膜相似,也称为基膜样物质。系膜细胞的功能目前尚不清楚,可能具有吞噬作用,清除掉滤过时被阻留在基膜上的大分子蛋白和残留物。
