  下丘脑产生促垂体激素的神经元既可以接受神经性传入,又是内分泌细胞,可把神经信息传递给内分泌系统。由神经元分泌的激素多是肽类,即神经肽。所以,将能传递神经冲动起神经递质作用的肽类物质称为肽类能神经递质系统。
