形态特征:兰科石斛属附生多年生草本植物。茎长30-50厘米，直径5-7毫米，具节，下垂。叶互生，披针形，长4-7厘米，宽6-15毫米，顶端长渐尖，花期叶凋落。4-5月开花，总状花序常常具2朵花，很少仅具1或3朵花，总花梗长约5毫米;花被片白色或黄白色，顶端紫色; 花瓣边缘具细齿;唇瓣肾状圆形，边缘具流苏，内面被毛，在基部具2个黄色大的斑块。
生境分布:附生于海拔550-2000米的林内树上。分布于云南、贵州、广西。不丹、印度东北部至中南半岛也有。
用途:茎药用，具滋阴养胃、清热生津及强壮的功效。
