【来源】
为寄居于菊科植物苍耳茎中的一种昆虫的幼虫。
【采集】
夏、秋间，寻觅苍耳草梗上有蛀孔者，其内都有蠹虫，用小刀剖取，随用或焙干后密闭贮藏，或油浸备用。
【功用主治】
治疔肿，痔疮。 ①《纲目》："治疔肿，恶毒。" ②《民间常用草药汇编》："治痔疮。"
【用法与用量】
外用：研末调涂、捣敷或用香油浸后敷。
【选方】
①治一切疔肿及无名肿毒恶疮：㈠麻虫(炒黄色)、白僵蚕、江茶各等分。为末，蜜调涂之。(《圣济总录》)㈡苍耳草梗中虫一条，白梅肉三、四分。同捣如泥，贴之。(《保寿堂经验方》) ㈢苍耳节内虫四十九条，捶碎，入人言少许，捶成块，刺疮令破，敷之，少顷以手撮出根。(《纲目》)㈣苍耳虫(不拘量)，冰片、雄黄各少许(研末)，飞廉一棵(捣烂取汁)，甘草五钱(用开水泡汁约一两)。上药同放入香油内浸泡备用。用时取虫一只，对准疔头包扎好。(《江苏省中草药新医疗法展览资料选编》) ②治痔疮：苍耳虫五分。泡香油外敷。(《民间常用草药汇编》)
