一种诊断胃病的方法。硬性胃镜主要由金属管与可弯曲的橡皮管(内装一系列反光镜和灯泡）组成。将胃镜导入胃内，直接窥视胃黏膜的变化，并可取出病变部分的黏膜作活检。对诊断胃炎、胃溃疡、胃肿瘤有很大帮助。目前，硬性胃镜已被可弯曲的光导纤维胃镜所取代。
