【植物形态】
粗叶耳草 一年生披散草本。枝粗糙或被粗毛。叶无柄，近膜质或纸质，披针形至卵状椭圆形，长2.5～6.5厘米，宽6～20毫米，先端渐尖，基部楔形，两面或被粗毛，边缘背卷；托叶有少许长睫毛，长4～5毫米。团聚花序，腋生，有花2～6朵；花白色，有香气，无柄；萼长约3毫米，被粗毛；花冠长约4.5毫米，顶端有簇毛。蒴果卵形，长2.5毫米，宽1.5～2毫米，被粗毛。花期秋季。 生于山坡阴湿地。分布我国南部。

秋季采全草，晒干或鲜用。
【性味】
甘，平。
【功用主治】
清热，解毒，消肿，止痛。
【选方】
①治小儿麻痹症：鲜粗叶耳草五钱，葫芦茶五钱。水煎服。 ②治胃炎：鲜粗叶耳草五钱至一两，水煎服。 ②治胃炎：鲜粗叶耳草五钱至一两，水煎服。 ③治感冒发热：鲜粗叶耳草一两，水煎服。 ④治毒蛇咬伤：鲜粗叶耳草一两，水煎服；渣捣烂外敷伤口。
