为常染色体隐性遗传。表现：矮小占56%，头小占43%，拇指发育不全到缺如占78%。皮肤不均匀色素沉着，并有随年龄增长而增加的倾向，尤其在肛门生殖器，腹股沟，腋窝及躯干等。小阴茎、小睾丸和/或隐睾，占男性病人的44%。全血细胞减少是此病常见特征。发病时间可见于婴儿至二十几岁。骨髓广泛发育低下，其中可见造血灶，一些红细胞呈巨红细胞性。白细胞减少主要为粒细胞减少。尸解经常见到脾发育不全。染色体断裂多。常有感染发生。早期治疗可以延长生命。
