检查糖尿病的一种特殊试验。用放射免疫法测定空腹时血浆胰岛素的含量。正常范围为5～20uU／m1，幼年型病者往往在4uU／ml以下，有时接近0或测不出。成年型病者大都稍低于正常，但偏胖者可正常甚或稍高于正常，对诊断价值不大，故临床上应用血浆胰岛素诊断者不多。
