The article analyzes the comparative advantages and disadvantages of printed periodicals and network peri- odicals from the following perspectives:cost of subscribing to periodicals,managing methods,reading habits,infor- mation sharing,speed of information spreading,content enlargement,souree exploitation and reading benefit.

This paper analyzes on the present situation of and problems existing in the distribution of printed periodicals in Jiangxi Sci-tech University s library, gives the scheme of the rational distribution of printed periodicals under the network environment, and advances some measures for rational utilization of printed periodicals.
