性质:又称OB蛋白。系肥胖基因(obese gene)在脂肪细胞内的表达产物。分子量16 000,含167个氨基酸残基的单链蛋白质分子、具有高度亲水性,在N端含有分泌信号肽。在动物实验中,对鼠腹腔注射瘦蛋白,肥胖鼠和正常鼠的体重都下降,脂肪含量也下降。瘦蛋白是通过调节代谢和食欲来实现控制休憩重和脂肪沉积。瘦蛋白产生于脂肪细胞,是一种激素样物质,能从脂肪细胞分泌入血液,已发现在脉络丛及下丘脑处存在有瘦蛋白的受体(Lep-R)。瘦蛋白也许是通过反馈系统来调节体重,它有可能被制成减肥药而应用于人类的日常生活中。
