A new catalytic kinetic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace Pd(Ⅱ) was established, which was based on its catalytic effect of trace Pd (Ⅱ) on the oxidation of diantipyryl-(p-diethylamino)-phenylmethane(DAEAM) by potassium bromate in H 3PO 4 medium heated in a water bath of 90 ℃, and the colour reaction of DAEAM was catalyzed strongly by trace palladium(Ⅱ).
