印度尼西亚八月革命期间（1945～1949）出现的以诗人凯里尔·安哇尔为首的文艺流派。1946年11月19日凯里尔与一些年轻诗人和画家创立文艺组织"文坛社"，并在《策略》周刊上开辟文艺专栏。他们的作品在创作方法和艺术风格上与战前“新作家”时期不同，战前"新作家"田园式的浪漫主义气氛已不复存在。凯里尔首先采用表现主义的手法写诗,他那新颖独特的诗歌形式,凝练紧凑的诗句，开创了印度尼西亚诗歌的新风格，在青年诗人中引起巨大的反响。"文坛社"在成立初期，对民族独立斗争持积极态度，后受"普遍人道主义"、世界主义等思潮的影响，日益脱离现实斗争，表现出为艺术而艺术的倾向。1949年6月,凯里尔去世后不久，有人第一次把"文坛社派"改称为"四五年派"，并把八月革命期间涌现的青年作家也包括在内。"新作家"时期的老作家认为"四五年派"只不过是"新作家派"所开创的文学道路的继续。而进步作家则认为以凯里尔为首的所谓"四五年派"根本不能代表四五年的革命精神。在50年代初，就"四五年派"的称呼问题曾出现一场激烈的论战。
