由衣原体引起的一种家畜传染病。如鹦鹉热衣原体(Chlamydia psittaci)对人和畜、禽都有致病力, 能引起多种疾病,包括人的鹦鹉热 (psittacosis),禽的鸟疫(ornithosis),母羊的流产,猪、牛、羊的卡他性肺炎,犊牛的散发性脑炎,羔羊的多发性关节炎,牛的肠炎,绵羊的结膜炎等。衣原体病的分布是世界性的。中国已从家鸽、山羊、绵羊和猪中分离出衣原体。磺胺药物和抗生素对衣原体病的治疗有效。对衣原体性羊流产已有疫苗可供免疫接种。
