性质:  即兼性厌氧菌。在有氧条件下生长良好,在无氧条件下也能生长的微生物。在有氧时靠呼吸产能,无氧时可借发酵或无氧呼吸产能。细胞含超氧化物歧化酶和过氧化氢酶。兼性菌的功能一般好于需氧菌。许多酵母菌和细菌都是兼性厌氧微生物:如酿酒酵母。多数致病性或条件致病性微生物属于兼性厌氧微生物如肠杆菌科细菌(大肠杆菌、肺炎杆菌、变形杆菌、肠杆菌、伤寒杆菌、沙门氏菌、志贺氏菌等),葡萄球菌属,链球菌属,肺炎球菌,炭疽杆菌和白喉杆菌等,一般细菌在代谢过程中都需要CO2,但大多数细菌自身代谢产生的CO2能满足需要。有些细菌,如肺炎球菌在初次分离时需在有CO2环境中生长。兼性厌氧菌细菌对抗生素敏感。
