毛泽东作于1937年7月。编入《毛泽东选集》第一卷。重点揭露轻视实践的教条主义，并从认识的来源、认识发展的动力、认识的目的、检验真理的唯一标准等方面，阐明实践在认识中的地位和作用。提出认识从感性到理性，从理性再回到社会实践的“两个飞跃”思想。强调必须在改造客观世界的同时，改造自己的主观世界即认识能力。指出教条主义、冒险主义均以主观和客观相分裂、认识和实践相脱离为特征。提出主观与客观、理论与实践、知与行的具体的历史的统一。该书是毛泽东的哲学代表作之一，在马克思主义哲学的发展史上占有重要地位。
