Mei一Xi Bali Heyue《美西巴黎和约》‘Treatyof尸。ri:b。-tween the United States ofAmeriea and助ain)美国和西班牙为结束两国1898年战争而缔结的条约。1898年12月10日由双方代表在巴黎签订。和约共17条,主要内容有:①西班牙放弃对古巴的一切主权要求和所有权,由美国予以占领。②西班牙将波多黎各岛和西印度群岛中其他西属岛屿及关岛让与美国。③西班牙将通称菲律宾群岛的各岛屿让与美国,在本条约互换批准书后3个月内美付给西2 000万美元。④双方互相遣返战俘。⑤两国互换条约批准书后,西军撤离菲律宾和关岛,各处堡垒和海岸防御工事中的重型大炮(野战炮除外)在条约生效后6个月内仍置原地,美国可出资购买。⑥美国承诺在互换条约批准书之日起10年内,允许西班牙船舶和货物以美国船舶和货物所得到的同样条件进人菲律宾群岛各港口;西班牙有权在已放弃或让与其主权的领地的港口和地方设立领事馆。 1898年4月,美西战争爆发。同年7月,西战败求和,于8月12日被迫在华盛顿同美签订停战协定。10月1日,美西开始在巴黎举行和会,12月10日签订本和约。美国通过该和约夺得西属大片殖民地,增强了其在拉丁美洲和亚洲的政治、经济与军事地位,揭开了帝国主义列强重新瓜分殖民地的序幕。(苗恩霖)
