Analysis of the complete genome of a Japanese encephalitis virus strain with low peripheral virulence

Two primers used to amplify the full length of Japanese encephalitis virus(JEV) WHe strain and another two pairs of primers used for identification were designed according to the complete genome of JEV-WHe strain(GenBank number,EF107527).

Specific primers were designed according to the published nucleotide sequences of SA14(U14163) and partial determined nucleotide sequences of JEV WHe strain,a reverse transcription and polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR) technique for viral nucleic acids as an alternative protocol for diagnosis of Japanese encephalitis virus were developed.

Japanese encephalitis virus belongs to the family Flaviviridae with a genome of capped single-strand positive RNA approximately 11kb in length.
