植物形态：多年生草本，高约30厘米左右，地下根茎粗壮，略呈聚集扁球形的团块，上具数轮环状叶鞘痕，下面着生有多数须根；地上茎极短，中空，干枯后凹痕较川芎为浅；根茎干后呈棕褐色，有香味。叶互生，2回奇数羽状复叶，小叶2~3对，阔卵形至椭圆形，长9~15厘米，叶柄长5~8厘米，有沟纹，叶鞘抱茎，叶基部阔楔形，先端渐尖或短尖，边缘有重尖锯齿或为缺刻状，表面深绿色，脉上及叶缘有短毛，背面淡绿色，几无毛。花及果缺（本种每年均不开花） 生态分布：具称本种是在清朝末年由湖南引种而来。 药用部分：根茎入药。 用途：有散风寒、燥温之效。
