On the basis of quality analysis and classification of grain types for American rice varieties, correlation analysis,principal component analysis, and regression analysis among rice grain quality traits of 27 longgrain type rice introduced from America by statistics package for social science were studied in this paper.

SSR primers screened from 88 SSR primers distributing orderly 12 chromosomes of rice were used to detect genetic diversity among the 33 American rice and 13 Chinese rice.

American rice took on a series of advantageous characters in quality, ability of tolerance for fertilizer, resistance to lodge, effective spike ratio, adaptability to strong illumilation, insensitive against temperature, cross-compatibility to both Indica rice and Ja.

The results showed that the compatibility between American rice variety and Japonica type was much better than that between American variety and Indica type.
