黏液瘤一旦确诊，应尽早手术治疗。在气管内全麻体外循环下进行。可采用房间沟或房间隔径路。应将瘤蒂根部连同周围房间隔一并切除。若瘤体巨大或基底宽阔，可采用左、右心房切开径路。由于黏液瘤体脆弱，易破碎，操作应轻柔，避免破碎，若有碎片脱落，应冲干净，以免造成栓塞。手术死亡率低。术后约有5%复发。
