具有气壳光谱的热主序星。其光谱型通常在B~F范围内(见恒星光谱分类)。气壳光谱的主要特征是存在锐而深的氢、中性氦以及一次电离硅、铁、钛等吸收线。同时还具有强的发射线。光谱的不规则变化表明气壳在活动,而且部分吸收线的轮廓并不对称。有的气壳星谱线的长波端陡峭上升,而短波端平缓上升;有的气壳星谱线情况相反。气壳的形成过程大概是这样的:星体快速自转,引起星体的不稳定,于是物质从星体抛射出去,在星体周围形成气壳。著名的气壳星有天秤座48、金牛座ζ、金牛座28等。
