| 平衡木 balance beam 女子竞技体操项目。器械为一长500厘米、宽10厘米的木条，平置并固定于高120厘米的支架上。比赛成套动作包括各种跳步、转体、平衡、造型及各种翻滚动作，在规定的时间内完成。1936年第十一届奥运会列为女子团体比赛内容。作为单独比赛项目，1952年第十五届奥运会才正式确定下来。50年代初期，动作以走、跑、跳步和一些平衡、滚翻、倒立、舞蹈动作为主。50年代后期，软翻类动作移植到平衡木。60年代出现了快滚翻、单臂倒立、依次软翻、手翻和侧空翻、前空翻转体类型下法等动作。70年代，技术发展迅速，快速手翻、前空翻和后空翻被移植过来，使这项技术的发展进入新阶段。80年代以来，又出现了踺子后手翻后空翻站木，踺子拉拉提再接拉拉提 、空翻转体站木和空翻两周转体360°下法等动作及其连接。提高整套动作的艺术性、竞技性和稳定性是平衡木发展的趋势。
