Firstly, we identified competencies basing on industry characteristics, then revised and perfected these indexes and definitions through Delphi method.

R.B.Robert Bruce Merrifield (1921～)美国生物化学家。1921年7月15日生于得克萨斯州沃思堡。1943年获加利福尼亚大学文学士学位。1944年入加利福尼亚大学研究生院攻读博士学位，1949年获哲学博士学位，后在该校任教。1966年至今，任洛克菲勒大学生物化学教授。
梅里菲尔德自1953年起，多年从事蛋白质化学的研究，主要研究多肽（见肽）和蛋白质的合成，以及合成的生物活性多肽和蛋白质的结构与功能的关系。从1959年5月开始研究多肽固相合成法,1962年成功地用固相合成法合成一个二肽。同年他又合成一个四肽。1963年又合成了含有9个氨基酸残基的缓舒激肽，只花了8天时间。梅里菲尔德的多肽固相合成法比经典的合成方法省时间，简便,效率又高。随后，在实践中不断完善,到了70年代，已成为许多多肽合成实验室使用的一种基本方法。1965年梅里菲尔德制成了第一台自动化合成仪。1969年他用这台仪器高速地合成由 124个氨基酸残基组成的核糖核酸酶A。核糖核酸酶A是世界上首次人工合成的酶。他的工作对整个有机合成化学起了极大的推动作用。他因发明多肽固相合成法，对发展新药物和遗传工程的重大贡献而获1984年诺贝尔化学奖。70年代起，曾先后到欧洲和日本讲学。1977年访问过中国，1983年6月第2次访问中国。
